The Perfect Candidate
The question faced most commonly by managers and recruiters is, “How to choose the right person for the right job?” There are a number of tools available to help select the perfect candidate. First, we need to understand the basics of testing a person’s various intelligences and skills.
The most important word we need to know is psychometrics. This term is defined by britannica.com as the ‘science of psychological measurement’. This is the science that uses tools such as questionnaires and tests in order to measure the knowledge, abilities, attitudes and personality traits of an individual. The various skills and abilities that are measured include abstract reasoning, emotional intelligence, general mental ability, integrity, numerical reasoning and verbal reasoning. A measurement of some or all of these traits can be quite helpful in choosing the right candidate, which, after all, is our primary aim.
